Lecture:"Rethinking the Revolution: New Historical and Historiographical Perspectives on Rural Mexico after 1910"

The Mexican Center of the Teresa Lozano Long Institute of Latin American Studies (LLILAS) presents a lecture entitled "Rethinking the Revolution: New Historical and Historiographical Perspectives on Rural Mexico after 1910". 

Speakers:
Matthew Butler, associate professor of history, The University of Texas at Austin: "Religion and land reform in the Mexican revolution"

Antonio Escobar Ohmstede, Centro de investigaciones y estudios superiores en antropología social (CIESAS), Mexico City: "Ruralidad y reforma agraria con base en una perspectiva hídrica y agraria"

Drawing on the research of participants, this panel will discuss recent approaches to Mexico's rural revolutionary history and focus on possible areas for future scholarly and institutional collaboration between the University of Texas and CIESAS.
