The History Dept. will host a talk by Dr. Gregory Maddox, professor of history and Dean of Academic Affairs and Research at Texas Southern University, titled "Cooling the Land: Environment and History in Africa."
Maddox is the author of author of Sub-Saharan Africa: An Environmental History, co-author of Practicing History in Central Tanzania: Writing, Memory, and Performance, and co-editor of Custodians of the Land: Ecology and Culture in the History of Tanzania.
