The Fort Worth Texas Exes Chapter is hosting the talk and banquet in honor of the 2011 Texas Independence Day. Enjoy cocktails, barbeque and a silent auction. Proceeds benefit the Fort Worth Texas Exes Scholarship Endowment.
The speaker will be H.W. "Bill" Brands, the Dickson, Allen, Anderson Centennial Professor of history at The University of Texas' Department of History. His talk is titled "What I learned at the Texas Revolution."
Brands has published more than 20 books including Lone Star Nation: The Epic Story of the Battle for Texas Independence. He is a two-time Pultizer Prize finalist.
