Dr. Penne Restad is a Senior Lecturer in the Department of History. She received her Ph.D. in 1994 from The University of Texas at Austin. Her research interests include the formation of American cultural identities and behaviors; material culture and consumption; and the intersection of gift and money economies in the late nineteenth century. Her book, Christmas in America: A History, was published in 1995 by Oxford University Press.
