The Symposium on Gender, History, and Sexuality presents a talk by Dr. Janet M. Davis, associate professor of American Studies, History, and Women's and Gender Studies.

Professor Davis' presentation titled "Docked Tails, Fighting Cocks, and Raging Bulls: Making Gendered Sense of the American Animal Welfare Movement, 1830-1940," will be an overview of her new book, The Gospel of Kindness: Animal Welfare and the Making of Modern America.
