Nation-State and Transnational Environment Conference

This conference is the centerpiece of the institute's global borders theme for the program year 2008-2009. It will specifically relate to history and the future of environmental diplomacy.

The first panel session starts at 2:30 p.m., April 16, followed by the keynote address at 7:30 p.m. by John McNeill, professor of history at Georgetown University, one of the world's leading environmental historians.

On April 17 and 18, the conference hosts four panels that will explore the general theme from four different angles. The program will culminate in a "roundtable" that will shift the attention from the past to the present and future.
