Research interests:
His current research examines rubber tapping in the Brazilian Amazon during World War II and the roots of contemporary popular mobilization in the rainforest.
Courses taught:
His primary specialization is Brazilian history, but he is also interested in broader questions of race and ethnicity in Latin America, indigenous policy, and comparative frontiers.
