" The farther backward you can look, the farther forward you are likely to see. "

I am an historian of Latin America specializing on Mexico. My research focuses on twentieth-century Mexico, in particular the interplay between postrevolutionary state-formation and Catholic lived religion under the single-party priísta regime after 1940. However, I have broad historical interests spanning multiple continents and time periods. In addition to academic endeavors, I enjoy travel, photography, boating, and spending quality time with family and close friends.

Colonial and National Latin America; Nineteenth- and Twentieth-Century Mexico; Mexican Church-State Relations; Catholic Lived Religion; Post-revolutionary Mexican State Formation; PriĆsta Mexico; Medieval, Early Modern, and Modern Europe; Antiquity; United States History; Religious Studies; International History, Politics, and Diplomacy.
