Fall Undergraduate Scholarship Competition
Posted: October 12, 2011
The Department of History is now taking applications for its fall scholarships. These scholarships will go to sponsor some of our outstanding majors who are undertaking research in every field of history. This year, for the first time, the department is using the College of Liberal Arts’ online scholarship application system to award all of its departmental scholarships.
Thanks to generous donors, the Department can support the education of history majors who have demonstrated academic merit. Some of our scholarships are targeted at students who have undertaken research in the field of History, particularly through the History Honors program. Others are for those who have demonstrated financial need.
We also hope to support History majors who are studying abroad this spring in a new Maymester program in Prague led by Dr. Tatjana Lichtenstein. We encourage all of our majors who have at least a 3.0 overall GPA and who have completed 45 hours in residence at UT to apply. By applying, you will be considered for all of our departmental scholarships; we will determine for which scholarships each applicant is eligible. More information on our scholarships is available on the Undergraduate Financial Aid webpage. Students may apply for scholarships on the scholarship application website.
Scholarships applications are due on November 1 and award announcements will be made after the first of December.
