Professor Crew selected for recipient of 2007-2008 Chancellor’s Council Outstanding Teaching Award

The award recognizes excellence in undergraduate teaching at the university. Deans of each school and college submit materials that are reviewed by a committee of five faculty members and two students who then select the professor.
As the recipient of the teaching award, Crew will receive honorarium and will be honored at the President’s State of the University Address in September.
Crew is the author of:
Town in the Ruhr: A Social History of Bochum, 1860-1914 (1979); Germans on Welfare: From Weimar to Hitler (1998)
He is also editor of Nazism and German Society, 1933-1945 (1994) and Consuming Germany in the Cold War (2003). His most recent publication is Hitler and the Nazis: A History in Documents in the “Pages from History” series (Oxford University Press, 2005).
