The program also released "Yet More Adventures of Britannia," the fourth in a series of publications produced jointly by the university's Harry Ransom Humanities Research Center and I.B. Tauris of London.

On Sept. 2, the university celebrated the anniversary of the founding of the program with a ceremony at the Ransom Center that included a brass band, bowler hats and speeches from President Larry R. Faulkner, a senior vice president, two deans and about 150 members of the seminar and others.

"We're proud of the long and rich tradition of scholarship and sharing that the Friday seminar represents," said Dr. Roger Louis, director of the British Studies program and History professor who holds the honor of having been appointed Commander of the British Empire by the Queen of England.

In addition to lectures, the seminar also sponsors scholarships for undergraduate and graduate student, conducts a Junior Fellows program for assistant professors and offers an interdisciplinary graduate seminar in British history, literature and politics.
