Rapoport-King Scholarship to Alisha Van Eimeren.
Prof. Robert D. King to advise Linguistics major's research.
Posted: November 5, 2009
The Department of Linguistics congratulates Alisha Van Eimeren, a senior majoring in Linguistics, who was recently awarded a very competitive $3000 Rapoport-King Scholarship. These scholarships, funded by a gift from Bernard and Audre Rapoport, are awarded annually by the College of Liberal Arts in support of undergraduate research projects. Ms. Van Eimeren's project will examine the kinds of language we use in talking about animals and pets. Her advisor on this project is Prof. Robert D. King. In setting up these awards--and in naming them the Rapoport-King Scholarships--the Rapoports recognized the contributions Prof. King made to Liberal Arts during the years in which he served as its founding dean.
