Derya Kadipasaoglu has been named a Dean's Distinguished Graduate for 2012. She is one of only 12 undergraduates in the College of Liberal Arts who will be so honored at the commencement ceremonies this coming May. Derya is completing her undergraduate honor's thesis under the direction of Prof. Colin Bannard on the social cognitive prerequisites for understanding first- and second-person pronouns. In this work, she has been inspired by claims made by Prof. Steven Wechsler's recent work on the semantics of personal pronouns.
In the fall, Derya will be joining the doctoral program in psychology at the University of Southern California, where she has been awarded a five-year Provost's Fellowship.
Our congratulations to Derya!
