Linguistic Society of America Elects Björn Lindblom to Be Honorary Life Member.
Emeritus Professor Recognized for His "Groundbreaking Research" in Phonetics.
Posted: January 28, 2013
Professor Emeritus Björn Lindblom was recently elected by the Linguistic Society of America (LSA) to be an honorary life member. This is fitting recognition of Björn's enormous contribution to linguistics during his many years of teaching and research here at UT and at the University of Stockholm. As the LSA notes in its citation about Björn's distinguished career, he "is an internationally renowned phonetician whose groundbreaking research underlies major directions of subsequent work in both phonetics and phonology."
We in Linguistics at UT Austin have long been honored that we can call Björn a colleague, collaborator, teacher, and friend.
