Amelia Ruiz Fischer received a major university award for her senior thesis, “Sinking Jimmy’s Ship: The Mariel Boatlift and the Re-rupture of U.S.-Cuban Relations.”

LLILAS Announces Photo Contest Winners

LLILAS is pleased to announce the finalists in the 2008 UT Latin American Photo Contest. Faculty, staff, students, and alumni submitted more than 180 photographs from almost every country in Latin America. The three winning photographs will be displayed along the north hall at LLILAS, adjacent to the Vistas photo exhibit.
