Application Procedures
The application deadline for this program is 5 PM on February 23, 2007. Interviews with applicants may be scheduled for February 26 – March 2. All applicants will be notified of their status by March 5. Acceptance and a non-refundable $250 deposit will be due by Friday, March 9.

Applications submitted after the deadline will only be considered if space is available. In filling out your application, please follow the instructions carefully, using the following checklist to make sure that you have completed all the steps in the application process. Be sure to keep a copy of your completed application for your own records.

Application Checklist

  1. Application Form (PDF, 228K)
  2. Personal Essays:  2 essay prompts; essays should be typed; please make sure that your name  and EID are at the top of each page.
  3. Reference Forms: Two letters of recommendation are required. At least one of these should be from a faculty member familiar with your academic performance in your major field of study.  The form should be returned to you in a signed, sealed envelope.
  4. Transcripts: Please include your most recent transcript.  Unofficial transcripts from the University of Texas at Austin are accepted.  In addition, please submit copies of official transcripts for any other work done at a college or university that does not appear on your UT transcript.  

We cannot process your application unless it is complete. We strongly recommend that you request a return receipt or package tracking if you choose to mail your application.

If you choose to hand-deliver your application, please deliver it to the Center for Middle Eastern Studies main office, in the West Mall Building (WMB), office 6.102 (immediately opposite the elevator).
