Course Description
This course in Modern Hebrew builds upon HEB 506. It assumes mastery of the Hebrew alphabet, the writing system, the sound system, simple language constructions, elementary grammar and a vocabulary of approximately 300 words. You will study expanded grammar and complex sentence structures. You will master at least three verb patterns in all tenses, will have a basic knowledge of nominal structures, will expand your vocabulary to some 600 words and reach conversational skills at the low-intermediate level. You will be introduced to the use of a Hebrew dictionary and will read and write passages that are about one-page in length. The course involves regular use of audio-visual materials in Hebrew, all of them accessible on the Internet.
Grading Policy
Distribution of grades will be determined by individual instructors.
