MES 320 • THE DEAD SEA SCROLLS

Course Description

The Dead Sea Scrolls, many of which were accidently discovered by Bedouin in caves near Qumran in the Judean Desert, represent one of the most important archaeological discoveries of the twentieth century. Thesae scroll have signifcantly enriched our knowledge of the Bible, early Rawbbiniic Judaism, sectarian Jewish life, and aspects of Christian thought.

Grading Policy

3 exams: 1. 30%, 2.; 45%; 3. 25%
