Course Description
This course aims at introducing the students to modern, standard Turkish at novice-intermediate level. You have already studied basic conversation skills, grammar structures, simple reading material, and the production of simple written assignments in the first three semesters. In this course, you should learn to use all of the skills acquired in the first year comfortably. We will focus on your listening comprehension skills. You should be able to follow conversations on variety of topics, even if you miss a few words. You should be able to make meaningful, educated guesses. In your conversations there will be more spontaneity. You should be able to respond more freely, and carry on discussions on specific topics, including but not limited to yourself and your interests.
Grading Policy
10% Speaking during the semester. 20% Homework. 5% Vocabulary Quizz. 25% Quizzes. 30% Written final exam. 10% Final oral exam.
