Course Description
This course, which is the last in a sequence of four courses, builds upon HEB 313K and involves a study of Biblical Hebrew combined with an introduction to Mishnaic and Modern Hebrew. The historical development of the Hebrew language is the focus of the course, and the texts studied are taken from the Hebrew Bible, the Mishna, poems of the Golden Age in Spain, and Modern Hebrew poetry and prose.
Grading Policy
Class attendance and participation: 30%; Quizzes : 15%; Midterm exam : 15%; Homework assignments: 20%; Final project: 20%
