Course Description

Moses Maimonides (1135/8-1204), the renowned authority on Jewish law, was also a distinguished philosopher. In this course we will introduce the main philosophical, legal and theologial ideas of Maimonides. The course will be mainly based on the readings from Maimonides' compositions including Mishne Torah and the Guide for the Perplexed.

Grading Policy

50% Comprehensive exam 50% Four (out of possible five) written assignments
