Course Description

This course looks into the ways by which the political and social characteristics of Israel affect its health system, and the health status of its citizens. By taking a political perspective on health, attention will be drawn to the ways ideology, political institutions, and power distribution fashion individual and public health. Comparison between Israel's health system, and the health system of other modern democracies, help outline similarities and differences in social values and politics, and the way they relate to our health.
