Course Description

The course aims at helping students improve their Modern Hebrew skills in reading and writing for the purpose of using it for their research. During the first month, readings will include excerpts of academic papers from a variety of academic fields (literary criticism, comparative religion, political science, history of the Middle East, sociology etc.). After the students have mastered basic skills in approaching an academic text in Hebrew, we will read entire papers according to students' interest. Students will be asked to critically present two papers in their field in class

Grading Policy

Class preparation 30% 1 translation 10% 2 reports 40% final exam 20%
