Course Description
Study Abroad–Taught in Mexico and Spain This section of the course constitutes the study abroad portion of the interdisciplinary Tracking Cultures Program during its trip to Spain and Mexico. The course will continue to highlight important topical links presented in the spring semester with the study of art history, architecture, literature, and music. The course will also focus on the development of key writing skills pertinent to the selection of a topic for the report that the student will undertake in subsequent semesters. Students will keep a daily field journal and will work toward the completion of a thesis proposal by the end of the trip abroad. A number of guest speakers will also present relevant topics on site. A take-home essay exam, designed to promote synthesis of the many different fields covered by the program, will be due at the end of the visit abroad. The course is taught in Spain and Mexico.
