Course Description

Part of the Study Tour and Curriculum Development Project in Egypt sponsored by the Center for Middle Eastern Studies. This course will present a concise history of Egyptian culture, politics, and society from the Old Kingdom (ca. 3000 BCE) until the present day. Participants will experience Egypt’s “living history” through readings, lectures, field trips, interviews, as well as group and individual projects. Participants will be expected to produce a final project for the course related to one of three categories – history and culture, business and economy, or education.
