Course Description

A new course covering Jewish history and culture in non-Western countries. Whether they are referred to as ‘Sephardi’, ‘Eastern’, or ‘Afro-Asian’, those communities, some of which date back to biblical days, maintained their distinct customs and religious traditions. The course will follow Jewish life in those countries, from prosperity and cultural revival in the Golden Age of medieval Spain, to mass exodus and relocation, mosly to Israel..
