MES 321K • History of the Arab World

Course Description

An introduction to the Arab world, for students who wish to understand to society, culture and past of this important region. The course reviews the main historical events, particularly of the last two centuries, describing the nature of premodern Arab society, the effects of modernization, and the contemporary scene and conflicts.
