Arabic Studies

The Arabic Studies Program at the University of Texas is a comprehensive in Arabic and Arabic Studies. The Department of Middle Eastern Studies offers B.A., M.A., and Ph.D. degrees with a concentration in Arabic. There has been increased interest in Arabic and Islam that has encouraged growth of the program and holds forth the promise of professional development in a fast growing field of inquiry. Due to this increasing prominence and the rising demand for Arabic, Middle Eastern and Islamic studies, two new tracks of study are currently under development: one in Colloquial Levantine Arabic and the other in Qur'anic Arabic. The latter track is being developed in close cooperation with the Islamic Studies faculty.
