The programs offered by the Department of Middle Eastern Studies focus on developing a strong knowledge base and profound understanding of the discipline and its ties to other areas of the humanities, social sciences, and the dynamics of human civilization. In addition to specialized knowledge of the languages, literatures, and cultures of the people of the Middle East, the Department also offers specialization in Islamic Studies and Jewish Studies.
