History and Philosophy of Science

The History and Philosophy of Science program helps students to make use of the University's strengths in history and the various sciences. An informal faculty-student reading group meets regularly to discuss issues in philosophy of science. Interests of the faculty in this area include reduction, formal learning theory, theories of evidence, philosophy of quantum theory, and philosophy of biology.
