Discussion/Paper Topic Questions: The Free Will Defense

1. Pick one of the four conceptions of human freedom, and discuss the question of whether it was feasible for God to arrange a world in which much human freedom but no moral evil exists.

2. Is the free will defense of any use in explaining the existence of “natural evil” (death, suffering, pain), especially among non-human animals?  Does Plantinga’s hypothesis of non-human free agents help? (Bear in mind the distinction between a defense and a theodicy.)
