Research interests:
Professor Allaire is co-author of Essays in Ontology (1963) and author of many articles on topics in ontology, Wittgenstein, and the history of modern philosophy. His contributions to Berkeley scholarship were recently honored with the publication of Berkeley's Metaphysics and Epistemology: Structural, Interpretive, and Critical Essays (1995), to which he contributed "Berkeley's Idealism: Yet Another Visit." He has been visiting professor of philosophy at the University of Michigan.
