Research interests:
Author of The Sources of Moral Agency: Essays in Moral Psychology and Freudian Theory (Cambridge, 1996) and the forthcoming An Introduction to Ethics (Cambridge, 2004), and editor of Ethics and Personality: Essays in Moral Psychology (1992), Professor Deigh specializes in moral and political philosophy, including the philosophy of law. He is especially well-known for his seminal papers on the moral emotions, such as guilt and shame. He is also the editor of the leading journal in his field, Ethics.
