About Ex Nihilo
Ex Nihilo is a student-run philosophy journal, which seeks to serve as an outlet for undergraduate philosophy essays of exceptional quality. The journal is produced by the Undergraduate Philosophy Association (UPA), and supported in large part by the Department of Philosophy at The University of Texas at Austin. Ex Nihilo is published in the spring.
We are now accepting submissions for 2016! Submissions should be 2,000-7,000 words in length, and may be on any philosophical topic. In addition, all submissions should contain an abstract of up to 250 words. Please, do not include any author-identifying information in the body of the paper or cover page. The deadline for submission is December 31st at 11:59pm. Of the total submissions, the best approximately 4-5 entries will be chosen for publication. For any such paper, Ex Nihilo's readers will offer multiple rounds of comments and revisions. As such, you ought to be prepared for a significant amount of correspondence and editing throughout the semester. Submissions from any school are welcome.
