Course Description
Individual Differences takes a close look at all the factors operating to make people different from one another. Among the factors considered are genes and other biological influences, social class, sex, and schooling. These influences impact the individual in the areas of intelligence, personality, psychopathology, vocational interests, and values. The importance of these individual differences is seen in the different life outcomes found for people who show significant differences in these basic traits. Some attention is also paid to the controversies surrounding the measurement and the use of measurements of individual differences.
