Course Description
Advanced statistical theory and methods for analysis of behavioral sciences data. The primary focus is on application of model-fitting theory to the primary statistical tests used by psychologists in order to understand the basic logic of the tests. We will also survey a variety of tests and establish design features for their appropriate use.
Grading Policy
Test 1 20% Test 2 25% Test 3 30% HOMEWORK 15% ATTENDANCE & INVOLVEMENT 10%
There will be three tests during the semesters. The first two will have materials solely from the first (test 1) or second (test 2) section of the course (reading and lecture). For the third test, approximately 2/3 will be drawn from the final section of the course and about 1/3 will be "comprehensive" or involve integration of ideas from the full semester. Tests will emphasize explanation rather than computation.
