Course Description

Psychology 301 is the beginning course in psychology. It is designed to introduce students to a variety of problems studied by psychologists, such as mind-body interactions, abnormal behavior, social psychology, therapy, and cognitive psychology. An emphasis is placed on real-world examples, and trying to applying psychology to one's own life. The hope is that the students will come away from the class understanding themselves and their world better.

Grading Policy

There will be three exams for this class, each covering 1/3 of the course material. There will NOT be a cumulative final. For each exam students will have the option of choosing between a 50-question multiple-choice exam or short essay exam. Final grades will be the average of the grades on the three exams. Grades will not be rounded up and no extra credit is available.
