Course Description
The class will address multiple topics related to studies on hormones and behavior. These topics will be addressed at multiple levels from the regulation of gene expression in the brain to the interactions between neurotransmitters and hormones in the regulations of behaviors in animal models and in humans. The topics covered in class will include sexual behavior, sexual differentiation, parental behavior, aggressive behavior, feeding and drinking, stress, learning and memory, circadian and seasonal rhythms, neuronal and behavioral plasticity.
Grading Policy
Midterm and Final exams will include short assay and short answer questions. The students will be given three papers on the topic of Hormones and Behavior and will work in small groups to summarize these papers.
