Course Description
Initially, this course covers the personal, social, and neurological sequelae of commonly abused drugs including stimulants, narcotics, hallucinogens, marijuana, sedatives, anxiolytics, alcohol, nicotine and tobacco, caffeine, prescription and OTC drugs. The course then focuses on the impact of evidence-based treatment practices and prevention.
In addition to regular lectures, there will be special guest lectures provided by individuals working in treatment for substance dependence, and by individuals who are in recovery from substance dependence.
Grading Policy
There will be 4 exams; they will each consist of 65 multiple-choice questions. Your low-score exam will automatically be dropped and your grade based on the highest 3 exam scores.
