Course Description
This course is intended to give students exposure to a wide range of topics in the field of psychology, with a special emphasis on clinical disorders (mental illness) . Lectures and class discussions will focus on learning, memory, intelligence, brain and behavior, personality, development, stress, and health, among other topics. Psychology is a science, and this class will emphasize critical evaluation of all material covered. Special attention will also be given to practical applications of psychology to everyday life.
Grading Policy
There will be four in-class exams. These exams will take a multiple choice format and will consist of approximately 40 items each. The top three exams will be worth 30% each, and the lowest exam will be worth 10% of the final grade. Make up exams can be taken on a special day at the end of the semester, August 16th. At the end of the semester, 89.5 100 = A; 79.5 to 89.49 = B; 69.5 to 79.49 = C; 59.5 to 69.49 = D; 59.49 and below = F.
