PSY 301 is an introductory psychology course that surveys the major areas and research within psychology. The goal is to introduce students to the science of contemporary psychology while pointing out the inherent importance of psychological principles to their own lives.
There will be five, primarily multiple-choice exams, throughout the semester that make up 75% of the final grade. Exams will draw from both lectures and readings. Students are also required to keep a journal relating topics covered in class to their lives and the world around them, worth an additional 15% of their grades. Class participation will also make up 10% of their grade.
