PSY 357 • Undergraduate Research

Unique Days Time Location Instructor
41575 -TBA

Course Description

The major purpose of this individual instruction course is to provide an opportunity for advanced and qualified undergraduates to obtain firsthand, supervised research experience in psychology. The student will usually assist a professor with a research project by helping to prepare the study and by running subjects in the study. The student may work with a graduate student who is doing research supervised by a professor. The student should not expect to be able to conduct an experiment of his/her own.

Students are responsible for securing a position in a research lab of their choice. Please follow the link at the bottom of this page for project descriptions and a printable consent form.

Grading Policy

A paper on the research experience in which the student participates will be required. The course grade will be determined by both research involvement and the paper. PSY 357 is offered on a Credit/Fail grade basis only.  PSY 357 may be repeated for credit. It will not count toward the hours of psychology courses required for the psychology major, but may count as elective hours toward the total required for degree completion.
