Course Description

The traditional content areas of psychology will be explored. Particular emphasis is placed on the methods that are used by psychologists and the questions that these methods address. Lecture topics include stress, brain mechanisms, learning and memory, personality, Freud, development, abnormal behavior, therapy, social processes, and much more. This will be a new format for the class -- two mass lectures per week and a single discussion section run by an upper division psychology undergraduate.

Grading Policy

Three in-class writing exams: 80% of the grade based on lectures and reading Four writing assignments: 10% of the grade Assignments in the discussion: 10% of the grade
