Devendra Singh 1938-2010

Professor Devendra Singh, a distinguished faculty member in the Department of Psychology and noted evolutionary psychologist, passed away May, 18, 2010. Dr. Singh was born in India in 1938 and completed his M.A. in Psychology at Agra University, Agra India in 1961. He obtained his Ph.D. (Experimental-Physiological Psychology) from Ohio State University in 1966. Dr. Singh held teaching positions at Wright State University and North Dakota State University before coming to The University of Texas in 1969. He will be cremated and his ashes will be taken to India.
A memorial service for Dr. Singh was held at the Texas Union's Quadrangle Room 3.304 on Saturday, June 12, at 2:00pm. The family suggested memorial contributions be sent to UNICEF or ASPCA.
