Study by Marie Monfils paves way for further research on the possibility of erasing "emotional memories"

A new study by researchers in Sweden supports previous research by assistant psychology professor Marie Monfils. Dr. Monfils research had found that fearful or emotional memories can be changed through a method called ‘extinction’.” The current study found that it may be possible to erase emotional memory from the brain "if those memories are intercepted during what is known as the reconsolidation process."
