A news article published online in the weekly journal, “Nature”, covers research on the topic of ritual practices and how they shape group behavior. A study published by Cristine Legare in the journal Cognition is described, along with research by other psychologists. This research is supported by a grant from the Economic and Social Research Council to Dr. Legare and her collaborators at the University of Oxford. Dr. Legare is currently investigating the cognitive foundations of ritual and other kinds of cultural learning.
