John Ruszkiewicz is Honored as Winner of the 2012 Frances Hernandez Teacher-Scholar Award by CCTE

Professor John Ruszkiewicz was honored as the 2012 winner of the Frances Hernandez Teacher-Scholar Award by the Conference of College Teachers of English at its recent meeting in Fort Worth, Texas. The Hernandez is a career award, recognizing outstanding teaching, scholarly and professional achievement, and service to CCTE. Ruszkiewicz, who has been at the University of Texas since 1977, taught literature and writing in the Department of English for fifteen years and was subsequently instrumental in the creation of the Department of Rhetoric and Writing, which he directed from 2001-05. He served as the President of CCTE in 1993. Most recently he is the author of How To Write Anything and best known as the co-author (with Andrea Lunsford of Stanford University) of Everything’s An Argument. Ruszkiewicz is the first faculty member from the University of Texas at Austin to win the Hernandez Award.
