Fellowships Scholarships
Departmental Scholarships
The Department of Religious Studies offers two scholarships each year to outstanding Religious Studies majors. These students will be known as Margaret Berry Scholars. An eligible student will have completed 45 hours of undergraduate work and have a minimum grade point average of 3.25. Scholarships will be granted on the basis of academic excellence.
Students must submit a 1-2 page personal statement, a letter of recommendation from a UT faculty member associated with Religious Studies, and a resume to the Religious Studies Scholarship Committee in BUR 406. The personal statement should include information about the student's reasons for choosing to major in Religious Studies, academic areas of interest, plan for completing the degree, and thoughts about how this major might be of service in years to come.
The deadline for applications for the 2008 Margaret Berry Scholarships is Thursday, January 31, 2008. Submit applications in person or by post to the Department of Religious Studies office in Burdine 406 (mail code A3700).
