The Department of Religious Studies offers a number of scholarships each year to outstanding Religious Studies majors. The awards are open to all Religious Studies undergraduates of any classification – Freshmen and Sophomores included – who meet the eligibility requirements.
The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage academic excellence in the field of Religious Studies and to reward demonstrated achievement of a high level. These awards can also provide necessary funds for students to study abroad, which the department highly encourages.
• Declared major in Religious Studies
• Minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average at UT
• Must be enrolled full-time at UT for current semester and for the following academic year
Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit. However, special financial circumstances may also be considered.
Applications are no longer being accepted for 2013-2014 scholarships. The deadline was April 15, 2013. The application will include a personal statement, resume, and one letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
Please check back later for details on future scholarships.
