The Department of Religious Studies offers a number of scholarships each year to outstanding Religious Studies majors. The awards are open to all Religious Studies undergraduates of any classification – Freshmen and Sophomores included – who meet the eligibility requirements.
The purpose of these scholarships is to encourage academic excellence in the field of Religious Studies and to reward demonstrated achievement of a high level. These awards can also provide necessary funds for students to study abroad, which the department highly encourages.
• Declared major in Religious Studies
• Minimum 3.25 cumulative grade point average at UT
• Must be enrolled full-time at UT for current semester and for the following academic year
Scholarships are awarded primarily on the basis of academic merit. However, special financial circumstances may also be considered.
The application system for scholarships will open on February 15. The deadline for applications is April 15. Funds are released the following fall semester. The application will include a personal statement, resume, and one letter of recommendation from a faculty member.
Check back in February for the application link.
