S C 507 • First Year Serbian/Croatian II
9:00 AM-10:00 AM
This course serves as a continuation of the introduction to the main languages spoken throughout the former Yugoslavia. All basic grammar needed for everyday conversation is covered. Forms used in the media and literature are introduced towards the end of the semester when short readings in the original are examined. The spring semester course completes the study of grammar needed for conversation while a variety of readings in Croatian, Serbian and Bosnian is introduced. The hope is that students will continue to study the language of their choice in the summer in Serbia or Croatia or Bosnia.
Class preparation and participation: 15% Three hour tests: 60% Final, with a "sight reading" 25%
